Joe Moss Announces Candidacy for Michigan House District 89, Calling for Courageous Leadership and Proven Results
HUDSONVILLE, Michigan – March 24, 2026 – Joe Moss, Ottawa County Commissioner and a proven conservative leader, announced his candidacy for the Michigan House of Representatives in District 89.
Moss entered public service during the COVID-19 pandemic after witnessing government overreach that harmed families, parents, and small businesses. He stepped forward to act—working to restore accountability and ensure government serves the people.
As Board Chair, Moss led the effort to eliminate Ottawa County’s DEI department—the first local government in the nation to take this step—strengthened parental rights, and advanced fiscally responsible policies—delivering real results for families and taxpayers.
Moss has been a strong advocate for protecting children, preserving childhood innocence, and ensuring parents—not government—make the decisions that shape their families. He also champions local control, standing with residents to defend their communities and farmland from top-down mandates.
“Michigan is at a critical moment, and the future of our state will be shaped by leaders who have the courage to act—and the record to prove they will,” said Moss.
“Strong leadership means taking decisive action, standing firm on principle, and remaining accountable to the people we serve. It means protecting children, preserving childhood, and standing with local communities—so the people, not distant bureaucracies, have a voice in their future. That’s the leadership I’ve brought in Ottawa County, and it’s the leadership I will bring to Lansing.”
Moss emphasized the need for Republican leadership that rises to the moment with courage, takes action, and delivers real results for Michigan families.
“Voters are looking for more than promises—they want results,” Moss added. “I’ve taken action, delivered reform, and stayed accountable to the people. I’m ready to bring that leadership to Lansing.”
His campaign will focus on protecting children and families, defending local communities, reducing taxes, strengthening Michigan’s economy, and eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse in government.
Moss is proud to have the support of County Commissioners Sylvia Rhodea and Allison Miedema, who also represent the people of House District 89.
