Thank you, citizens of Ottawa County, for the opportunity to serve you in the 2023-2024 term! Thank you, Board of Commissioners, for your hard work and dedication to upholding the principles of freedom and individual liberty! Thank you for seeking and promoting TRUTH.
It has been an honor to serve as Chairman for the past two years. I am humbled by the work that we accomplished. I am thankful the Board of Commissioners was able to refocus county government on preserving and protecting individual rights and meeting the needs of the people.
In 2022, we were elected in the wake of unconstitutional government overreach after our local county government was weaponized against the citizens. In addition to their COVID response, citizens learned that Ottawa County government was quietly promoting abortion resources, radical far-left sexuality for students and in guides for families, and Marxist CRT under the Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Department.
The people of Ottawa County took action! They elected courageous Christian conservatives working with OTTAWA IMPACT to the Board of Commissioners. We IMMEDIATELY abolished radical far-left ideologies and returned Ottawa County government to common sense and a place WHERE FREEDOM RINGS!
Due to our courageous stand against the absolute cultural collapse of local government, the leftist media and their Democrat allies attacked from all directions with lawfare and propaganda. I am so thankful that board members stood firm in the face of two years of lawfare, lies, and name calling. The Board was early in their stand against reality-bending, divisive DEI ideology, and stood in the gap for two years as Americans and corporations woke up to the harms of Marxist DEI.
Democrats and weak Republicans worked together in the August Republican primary to remove courageous Americans from the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners. But in November, Americans in Ottawa County and nationwide sent a resounding message with the election of President Trump that they are finished with government leaders stomping on basic realities, freedoms, and American values.
The next four years of God’s grace and mercy under President Trump presents the most incredible opportunity to invest and build a future that our grandkids will inherit.
In 2025, we must continue the momentum and reclaim the America first heritage that made West Michigan great! It is paramount that all citizens and especially CHURCHES engage in reclaiming culture.
I look forward to continuing to advance strong pro-family policy for the next generation by promoting Truth in the public square with my fellow Republicans on the Board of Commissioners in the 2025-2028 term.
Praise God that America is rejecting the left’s woke ideology. Now is the time to build lasting cultural change for future generations.
I want to publicly give all the credit and glory for all our accomplishments to Jesus Christ, who heard our prayers and petitions, and strengthened and guided us through the past two years of hard work.
