Education
Parents should be central to all education decisions. We need to eliminate all DEI ideology from government schools. It should be illegal for school staff to hide gender dysphoria or assist with the chemical or surgical mutilation of a child. We must restore academic standards, create a public report card system for accountability, and expand school choice. Michigan ranks in the worst 10 states for education. As the husband of a teacher, I know we must reject the status quo and make changes to put families first.

Economy
As Ottawa County Commissioner and Board Chair, I cut waste by returning the Health Department budget to pre-COVID levels and eliminated the woke Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Department on Day One. This is the type of action we need from elected officials. Government doesn’t create jobs: it taxes too much, regulates too much, and interferes with the free market. Entrepreneurs and small business owners create jobs. As a business owner who successfully built multiple companies, I know we must reject the status quo and lower taxes to help businesses thrive.

Energy
Since 2021, I have fought for local control, local decision-making, and protecting farmland. I will vote to repeal PA 233 and keep zoning and land use decisions local. I oppose Governor Whitmer’s MI Healthy Climate Plan. As a County Commissioner, I have worked to oppose utility-scale energy projects on prime farmland and educated citizens on the dangers of PA 233. I will continue to support keeping power plants like J.H. Campbell open so they can produce reliable, base load energy.

First Amendment
As President and Co-founder of Ottawa Impact, I have stood firm for the First Amendment, religious freedom, freedom of conscience, and due process since 2021.
We rallied thousands of parents against COVID government overreach, flipped the County Board in 2022, and delivered real reforms in 2023. This type of bold action is rarely seen in government, except by public servants who truly fight for the people like President Trump, JD Vance, and Charlie Kirk.
The First Amendment is for everyone. I spoke out against Governor Whitmer’s unconstitutional orders and worked with Unlock Michigan. I joined an amicus brief at the Supreme Court in the 303 Creative case, a nationwide victory for the First Amendment!
Through my work with Ottawa Impact, I talk to students and promote freedom on college campuses like Grand Valley State University and Hope College. I will continue working with Turning Point USA, Protect Life Michigan, and other organizations who stand for Truth in the public square.
We must deport every criminal illegal alien, secure the border, and prioritize law enforcement in our communities. I have advocated with the U.S. Department of Agriculture related to the H2-A program, including freezing the AEWR, and I will continue to promote common sense policies that put families and farmers first.
